Abstract
The goal of this research is to identify specific skills required for alternative education teachers as determined by an alternative education teacher. Do alternative education teachers believe there is a set of teacher skills that are unique to alternative education? The author predicts that while some skills that are important in traditional school settings, there will be a set of skills unique to the alternative education setting. This qualitative study will be conducted within a phenomenological framework.
