Abstract

This paper posits the idea that the general public obtains information about ADHD from different sources than academics do. The existence of two separate sources of information about ADHD research, who produces them and who consumes them and what the implications of this might be for the lay public and for therapists, are considered. The tone, content and research methodologies of information about ADHD is also examined and implications for therapists are suggested.
