dc.description.abstract | How can faculty help increase students' critical consumption of information in order to ground their learning in trusted and relevant resources for their discipline? In 2004, leveraging the ACRL Information Literacy Standards, CityU created the foundation for its integrated information literacy instruction program. In 2016 ACRL enhanced these standards through adoption of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education. Defining "knowledge practices" and "dispositions", the ACRL Framework presents a more complex set of core ideas students may adopt to enhance learning. In Fall 2018, the ACRL Framework was integrated into CityU's online course EAD 505 Adult Learning Theories. Using examples from EAD 505, this session will share strategies you may adopt to integrated the framework in your course in order to improve students' evaluation and use of information to support their learning. | |
