Trauma experienced during childhood is considered to have different implications and more detrimental consequences than during adulthood. Knowledge and awareness of Developmental Trauma as well as a unified approach to supporting this population is essential in order to prevent the many long-term consequences that stem from the trauma faced during childhood.
