The following thesis explores sexual health education in BC and in Canada. It does so by exploring sexual health in an international context as well as locally, comparing local curriculum to best practice documents, and uncovering the sexual health of youth in BC and Canada. I initially explore four international documents and the Canadian Guidelines for Sexual Health Education. After a full review of the BC curriculum I compare the BC curriculum against the Canadian Guidelines for Sexual Health Education. Following this, I review the literature on the sexual health of youth in BC and in Canada over the last 3 decades. Finally, I explain why this information is important in context with one another and for current and future therapists.
