Abstract

Many oral history collections lack the organization and storage that is necessary for meaningful use of the materials. The lack of standards or guidelines across the field has resulted in inconsistent and inadequate management and limited use of the materials in the collection. The purpose of this master's project is to add to the literature on how institutions presently manage and store their oral history collections, to present and discuss means to improve the way museums organize and store oral history collections, and to offer a guideline for organizing and storing the oral history collections.
