Abstract
Can teens be taught effective coping skills to take into their adult lives? Are teens aware of how stress affects them, and are they able to voice/describe who they are when they are stressed? This paper examines the current definitions of stress and then explores how stress affects the body both physiologically and psychologically. The paper reviews current literature pertaining to stress and what stress represents for today's teens. It examines what health education is available to students either through their communities or educational systems. It presents how teens describe their stress and the ways they deal with it in their lives. A model is presented that offers a holistic approach to stress education.
