Abstract

Those fortunate enough will invest their life savings, many months, and their dearest dreams in building a home; yet rather than treating this project as an important milestone, the current system for building is riddled with conflict, superficial in its approach, and regards the building process as an unpleasant means to an end. Drawing on spiritual and philosophical principles, I propose a new model in which building professionals unite as a team, partner with a conscious home consultant, and embrace the process of building as a spiritual path, inviting clients to do the same. This new model would honor the act of building a home as the profound, transformational, and archetypal event that it is for all who participate.
