Abstract
In this proposed study a set of Narrative therapy informed questions for talking to young people about self-injury will be evaluated. These questions are proposed in opposition to traditional therapeutic techniques like delaying, distracting, substituting and signing no-harm contracts. Participants will be young people who have a relationship with self-injury. Participants are predicted to have a positive experience with the proposed questions. Participants are predicted to be more motivated to change or end their relationship with self-injury than if the therapist had recommended they distract, delay, substitute their self-injury or sign a no harm contract.
