Abstract
This Capstone will explore the ideas behind how past traumatic relationships create difficulty in forming new, healthy relationships in individuals. The paper takes a look at different types of unhealthy relationships such as infidelity, physical, and emotional abuse that lead to traumatic relationships. Further, it describes the trauma that could lead to relationship related trauma such as betrayal trauma and the long road to recovery for individuals who have been affected by them. Furthermore, the paper examines the difficulties involved in forming healthy relationships for individuals who have gone through romantic traumatic events. Finally, the paper looks at workshops to help individuals who have gone through betrayal trauma and how the workshop can assist clients.
