Abstract
This project provides university museum educators with an overview of their specialized group of institutions, a means to compare their own institution to others on specific issues, and models of successful programs that may be adapted and utilized to serve their own audiences.
The scope of this project did not include an examination of programming for the outside community, but it is hoped that this aspect will be the subject of further research. Only by researching both aspects of audience development will the college and university museum community possess enough information to chart a course for future audience development.
