Abstract
The focus of this thesis is an empirical test of the hypothesis that the Lozanov Method is conducive to psi performance. The Lozanov Method is a relaxation and suggestion procedure which has been developed in an effort to apply some of the concepts in Suggestology, the. scientific study of suggestion, to education. This method incorporates a combination of a procedure similiar to Jacobson's "progressive relaxation," soothing mental imagery, suggestions of increased learning abilities, and Classical Baroque music in an effort to enhance one's learning abilities. It is usually used in a classroom course situation and has been reported to be extremely effective in increasing student's abilities to learn rote materials, such as languages and mathematics. In addition, the creator of the method, Dr. Georgi Lozanov, has claimed that it may also open-up other areas of one's potential abilities, including that of psi.
