Abstract

The purpose of this master's project was to compile data for, and write, the first draft of a book that addresses the care of antique dolls and toys. The objectives for this project were: To research sources for the care of antique dolls and toys. To work with the antique doll and toy collection at the Oakland Museum. The methodology used to complete this masters project can be divided into three main categories: 1) primary hands-on research at the Oakland Museum working with their antique doll and toy collection, 2) primary research through letters and telephone interviews with professionals at other museums in the United States, and secondary research from books and magazine articles on the care of historic materials in general.
