Abstract

This study is a descriptive analysis of bullying behavior among youths and its increasing concern in the school system. This report also provides the status of bullying state legislation and district policies. The rise of public awareness is growing, but solely based on the number of highprofile bullying incidents. Researchers and scholars have provided an understanding of the bullying issue and have revealed that bullies and bully-victims can experience long-term consequences. It is hypothesized that the analysis would show how bullying behaviors can develop into criminal thinking patters, different types of aggressions, and psychological traits. As well as the negative impact parental work hours have on bullying behavior. Results of the study indicate three factors: (1) bullying-victims are more often prone to criminal thinking and aggressive behaviors; (2) the bullying policies being implemented across the states still have room for improvement; and (3) the time parent and child spend together will have a significant influence on a child to develop problematic behaviors, such as bullying.
