Abstract

Food allergy is becoming a common term used in conversation, but people don't really understand all of the health implications and tend to be unaware that there's actually a continuum of sensitivity to foods. Health practitioners need to educate people on the various definitions of food allergies, food intolerances, and food sensitivities, because all of these food reactions can be detrimental to a person's health, and yet even professionals may be confused. We need health education that makes these distinctions and that helps people recognize hidden food symptoms and causes. This paper explains and also covers the various diagnostic tools, including a food allergy and food intolerance questionnaire that can assist in discovering unknown food reactions. People also need to be educated about why food allergies are on the rise and the approaches that can help prevent them.
