Abstract

This research investigated women's motivation in collegiate basketball. The hypothesis of the researcher was that as motivation increased so did the level of performance and vice versa. The results were then analyzed and the researcher looked for statistical significance. After analyzing the data there was no significant evidence that suggest motivation increases the performance of athletes Future research needs to be done in all areas of women's athletics. As women's athletics grow, so will the need for research to help the players, coaches and organizations work better together.
