Abstract
The study seeks to examine the nature of the relationship between Trait Anxiety and Competitive Orientation in sport. The hypothesis is that there is a significant and direct correlation between A-Trait and a high Outcome Orientation in competitors. Surveys were distributed to 98 Masters Swimmers. There was no significant correlation to support the hypothesis. It is suggested that a larger, better-controlled study be undertaken to more objectively investigate the A-Trait Outcome Orientation relationship.
