Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine if there was a difference in perceptions of organizational communication and organizational change within a group of employees, and between the employees and a member of management. The three employees and one member of management were interviewed individually on two separate occasions. Each person answered two questions during the first interview and eight questions during the second interview. The categories identified from the data were: 1) a hierarchical department; 2) means of distributing information; and 3) departmental change. Within the results, the predominant themes were a difference in the perception of communicated information and the type of answers given (job-related by the member of management and interpersonal by the employees).
