Abstract
Strategic initiatives that come from the top can mean new projects, improved processes, and sometimes, strategic alignment of organization to disrupt and create innovation. I believe that the intention to re-organize and bring new talent is for the ultimate good of the company. However, such changes must not lower employee morale but retain and improve it. The challenge for these leaders is to "have a strategy in implementing their strategic plan". Having a communication plan to disseminate the plan is the first step. Creating a strategy map serves as a guidance to get strategic alignment among the stakeholders. Strategic communication via "strategy in action" programs will create a top-down and bottom-up approach of clarifying and challenging the plan. This create involvement and empowering lower levels to get clarity on the bottom line and get their buy-in. Employee morale should be sustained during strategic organizational alignments so that employees support the ongoing changes and not become another source of issues within the organization. Staff's acceptance and collaboration are easier to achieve if they are properly involved and empowered thus sustaining employee morale during the middle of re-organization is very important.
