Abstract
The purpose of this study is to utilize content analysis as a tool of data analysis in order to increase the understanding of why some African American children achieve in school and why others fail academically. This study was conducted to understand the relationship with students and their educational environment. This study was also conducted to examine the adjunct roles of teachers within the education setting. The researcher's purpose is to examine parental engagement within the educational system. This project is important because there is a vision of action and commitment that begins and ends with our belief that all children can learn and that everyone in the community has an important role to play in ensuring that they succeed.
