Abstract
The intention of the proposed study outlined and described herein is to determine the social effects of special education inclusion in the general education curricula and environment. By following a qualitative, school-based, action-research design, the study will be conducted with a population of special education students—who’s specific needs and/or areas of concerns (as stated in their Individualized Education Programs [IEP] ) involve some sort of social behavior—from four public schools. The study will involve classroom observations, teacher interviews, and an attitude scale administered to each student.
