Abstract
The work I present in my thesis represents my attempt to go beyond making decorative objects. It points out possibilities for me to approach textiles from a conceptual point of view. It signifies a shift in attitude while my aesthetic preferences have remained basically the same.
My objective has been to integrally connect my process with the visual information of the object, so that the viewer is encouraged to consider the process by which the object was made. My process includes choice of materials, techniques and formats. I have tried to consider them carefully in relationship to the concept for each piece.
