Abstract
Inspired by a demonstrated gap in the death anxiety literature regarding the experience of young adults and familial bereavement due to cancer, as well as the author's personal experience of loss due to breast cancer, the proposed study would aim to investigate the relationship between death anxiety and the unique bereavement experience brought about by the death of a loved one due to cancer. The proposed study would provide meaningful and useful information about these important experiences. The knowledge gained from the proposed study could allow counsellors and others working in helping roles to better understand the role that death anxiety plays in the bereavement experience, and therefore better assist individuals that seek support.
