Abstract
The purpose of this Master's Project is to promote partnerships between schools and museums by guiding museum educators through the process of developing interactive media as an outreach tool for high schools. This project will provide museum educators with a reference tool to assist in the developmental process of producing appropriate interactive high-technology products that may be integrated into a high school curriculum. Educational goals, museum resources, and technological alternatives will be evaluated to create a structured resource of information. This resource will better enable museum educators to develop electronic tools for use in both local and distant high schools. In 1968, a farsighted author wrote that a "need of prime importance is to discover the best means for schools and museums to work together to make their resource materials mutually available. The computer is as yet an untapped resource... and its implications can be overwhelming."
