Abstract
The purpose of this master's project was to investigate design techniques utilized in five controversial exhibitions. These select design techniques allowed visitors to make viewing choices. The final product of this master's project is a resource handbook describing and visually demonstrating a number of design techniques used in five controversial exhibitions. The resource handbook is intended for museum professionals interested in exhibiting controversial and/or highly sensitive material.
