Abstract

Two organizations are responsible for maintaining and securing the Egyptian cultural properties. The first one is the Egyptian Antiquities Organization. There are different opinions about its management structure. One opinion states that museums should be separated from this organization to be independent institutions. The other point of view is that it would not be reasonable to separate museums from the organization because of security and financial reasons. The second organization responsible for security of antiquities is the Tourist and Antiquities Police Organization. One point of view holds that having two different organizations working for the same purpose is not manageable. The other opinion supports the idea of having a police organization specializing in securing antiquities.
