Abstract
The effects of Alzheimer's disease are devastating not only to society, but in particularly to those affected by it through family, friends, and loved ones. There are only a limited number of studies pertaining to the client themselves and the implications for counselling that clientele. This thesis explores the possible benefits of group therapy for persons dealing with a diagnosis of ESAD through an inquiry with mental health professionals concerning the needs their clients and the possible benefits of group therapy. The author presents a thematic analysis of the possible benefits of group therapy for early stage Alzheimer's disease (ESAD) clients, as perceived by the mental health professionals that facilitate the group sessions.
