This paper investigates the existing literature on psycho-educational groups, bibliotherapy, and the extent to which bibliotherapy can be utilized in a psycho-educational group by a school counsellor as a means of creating a safe place for adolescent girls to develop socially and emotionally. I explore the history of bibliotherapy, its therapeutic effects, how it has been used in a high school setting, and how it benefits teenage girls. Finally, I present recommendations as to how a high school counsellor would form and run such a group.
