Abstract

This project attempts to explore three major questions. First, how does the coach's interaction with a player affect his/her satisfaction? Second, how does the way the coach deals with mistakes affect players' attitude toward sport? Third, do coaches and athletes perceive the coach's leadership styles differently? The data was collected by administering the Leadership Scale for Sport to 12 male collegiate soccer players, followed by interviews with these same subjects. The data was then analyzed by discussing the results of the tests and interviews with the review of the literature. As the researcher, there is the possibility that by clarifying the intent of the interview questions, my intonations and phrases could have influenced players responses.
