Abstract

This paper will introduce a holistic academic program, "Kids Helping Themselves" (KHT), a holistic educational health promotion program to empower and inspire children to make healthy choices. There is a growing concern for children as they are becoming increasingly unhealthy. The KHT program will educate children in schools beginning at the age of six and seven so that they can begin to learn and embrace healthy habits from an early age. A variety of health topics, such as nutrition, fitness, stress management, sleep, daily routine, and spirituality, will be taught. In addition to the school curriculum, parents will also have a variety of resources available to them so that they can keep up and support their children on the path of promoting health. Overall, the KHT program is about children being able to play an active role in caring for themselves and their health.
