The purpose of this study was to develop guidelines to assist museums in creating a poetry program for high school students. Recommendations for these guidelines were also gathered from museum educators, high-school students, teachers, and a poet, a college student, and an artist. To aid in the development of the guidelines, an analysis of the Poets in the Galleries program at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco was conducted as well as research on other similar programs. The final product was a set of guidelines to assist museums in creating a poetry program.
