Abstract
This paper examines the recommendations made by the Innocence Project for methods to reduce wrongful convictions in the United States. These recommendations include double-blind lineup procedures, unbiased lineup instructions, and sequential lineup procedures. These recommendations are based on research that has shown many wrongful convictions to be related to erroneous eyewitness identifications. The purpose of this research is to determine if these recommendations can help prevent false identifications.
