Abstract

The purpose of this project was to research how art exhibitions for families are developed at art museums and children's museums in the United States. This project provides art and children's museum curators and exhibition developers with examples of successful art exhibitions for families and the criteria used to develop them. It also strives to show how children's museums, as experts on family audiences, and art museums, as experts on art, can help each other by sharing examples of appropriate art exhibitions for families.
