Abstract
This study seeks to illuminate understanding of sport performance by providing phenomenological descriptions of Black athlete's lived experience with interpretations of its textual meanings. This research is relevant to psychologists, sport psychology consultants, athletic directors, contemporary researchers, intervention agents (e.g., teachers, trainers, coaches, therapists, etc.). It would apply to any organization serving disadvantaged people. It may provide a process for managing and practicing self management and experience the benefits of centering in life.
