Abstract
My goal for this master's project is for readers to gain greater awareness of international partnerships and their value. I hope the descriptions of partnerships, benefits, and challenges outlined in this project inspire further dialogue about the potential of international museum partnerships to foster unique cross-cultural connections, and initiate brainstorming about how obstacles to partnerships might be overcome. Regardless if readers are museum leadership and staff, potential funders, or potential participants, I aim to communicate the important role international museum exchanges can play in enriching our local and global communities. As a result, I hope this work will generate increased BEYOND BORDERS: EXPLORING INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS prioritization and interest in such partnerships, so we may all more actively participate in the vibrant global culture of the 21st century.
