This thesis is a reflection on my personal process in therapy through which I reconnected with my heart and true self. By reflecting on my experience, presented over a four-year timeframe, I illustrate that finding the true self through a process of heart opening can bring about deep healing and change. Framed by body psychotherapy and family constellations theory, I present my experience with both of these schools of therapy and show how each of them contributed to my process of transformation and reconnection with the heart and self. I explore my experience and contemplate how my understanding and insights can be applied to work with clients.
