Kala Art Institute and Gallery is a reputable nonprofit art organization and benefits from a wide network of volunteer supporters and fiscal sponsors. Unfortunately, the organization, like many nonprofits, has suffered from the recessive economy. The organization recognizes that it cannot solely depend on generous donors for financial support and that is must implement a system that can generate revenue and widen its audience base to ensure a more involved and supportive constituency in the future. Although Kala acknowledges the need to move forward with such a system it has limited resources to do so. The key is for management to explore strategic opportunities and initiatives that will enable the organization to be more sustainable and fulfill its mission in the long term.
