Abstract
The purpose of this master's thesis is to present a comprehensive profile of fiscal sponsorship that includes the history, an overview of the respective models, applications of those models, and the benefits and risks of the practice. In addition to presenting a comprehensive profile of fiscal sponsorship, this thesis was also designed to explore the potential of the practice in the areas of partnerships, capacity building and fund development. It is my hope that this research will inform the nonprofit community of practice on this practice, its potential, and the role fiscal sponsorship plays in fostering a diverse nonprofit sector.
