Abstract

Mindfulness practices, involving non-judgmental intentional focusing in the present moment and rooted in the Buddhist tradition, have become well established in the West. Much has been written about these practices but accounts of the relational effects involved are noticeably absent from the literature. This autoethnographic account offers insights from a father's experience of the relational changes that followed from his son's mindfulness practices. This personal narrative, through an experiential exploration of relational dimensions, contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of mindfulness and mindfulness practices.
