Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether traumatic childhood experience/ abuse contributes to the level of violence a perpetrator inflicts upon his female victim. This is to include an investigation into the degree and type of violence found at crime scenes of sexual homicide perpetrators, and the defacement, dismemberment, and mutilation of their female victims. Seven individuals will be considered as examples of study and their childhood histories and crimes in adulthood will be examined from a psychological perspective. Attention will also be given to the importance of violent pornography in the commission of the perpetrator’s crimes in order to better understand its role as a possible contributor to deviancy, fantasy, and violence.
