Abstract

The particular business problem that this paper addresses is an issue that impacts a specific line of business (LOB) in the Wells Fargo organization. Throughout the majority of the Wells Fargo organization there are formalized project management methodologies and processes in place. These processes are used to monitor, control and track projects in the organization, in the past this specific LOB was small enough that they were able to bypass adhering to a specified methodology and process. However in the last year this LOB has tripled in size; which has resulted in not only more projects, but also more complex projects and thus the implementation of a formal project management methodology and process is a necessity. Three possible soutions have been identified to solve for the absence of a project management methodology and process. The 3 possible options are: Ignore the absence of a project management methodology and let each individual determine how to manage, documented and monitor projects. Implement a new project management methodology and process that is adapted for this specific LOB. Adopt on the enrerprise project management methodology.
