Abstract

The process of change is inherent in daily living. Recognizing this element in my work, I manipulate and alter large sheets of handmade paper into configurations that possess personal symbolic meaning and represent an outside force that causes change. By tearing and placing gashes in the paper, as well as turning over the edges of the work, I partially expose a hidden interior to create a sense of mystery and intrigue. This body of work expresses transformations of spirit and internal permutations.
