Abstract

This thesis deals with the issues of if and how video feedback is used in movement therapy. Five movement therapists who have experience with the use of video feedback in their clinical work were interviewed. In addition, a movement therapy group that used video feedback was conducted over a period of eleven weeks. The reactions of the participants were analyzed. The results from the interviews and the therapy group were analyzed to document whether video feedback supports the therapeutic growth of the participants. The participants in the movement group were not required to attend all eleven sessions. Only four participants attended more than two sessions. Therefore, the results from the group could not be used to support or contradict the hypothesis. The results from the interviews show that video feedback can be a beneficial therapeutic tool in movement therapy. But further and more detailed research is needed to find out exactly how video feedback supports the therapeutic growth of the participant(s), what type of patients do not benefit from video feedback, and what is the best methodology for using video feedback in a movement therapy setting.
