Abstract

The success of this project to add a new product to the Emeryville manufacturing facility will ultimately depend on the successful execution of the plan at the critical points of the process that were identified. If the plan is successful the result will be an increase In the profitability of the Emeryville facility, which will benefit the organization as a whole, the local group in Emeryville, and the surrounding community. The process of seeking additional products could be repeated as necessary to maximize the utilization of the facility as demand changes for various products and production activities are adjusted. A failure to bring a new product to the facility would not be catastrophic to the facility as a whole, but it could be a setback in the progress of the organization as it works towards its goals. The impact would be mainly felt by the employees and community, as jobs would likely be lost. If the search to find a new product to manufacture at the Emeryville facility is not successful, the leadership in the organization would need to assess the situation and determine if the best course of action would be to consider one of the other proposed solutions, or possibly to further work to determine new alternatives.
