Abstract

Through grants associated with new partnersnips, the Randall plans to update the facility and increase the amount of exhibits. The next project is to install a water-catchment system that collects rainwater to be used in irrigation for the grounds of the museum. This project is funded by San Francisco Community Challenge Grant Program and will be installed within the next few months. More long-term goals are currently in development thanks to a $5.5 Mill Nature Facilities grant recently awarded to the Randall by the State of California. The Randall plans to renovate its live animal exhibit, make the building fully accessible, add new nature education exhibits, and renovate current classrooms. This plan is an ambitious uncertaking that will require much planning and coordination both internally among staff as well as with the Recreation and Parks department. This project is intended to be completed within five years and will truly transfm visitors' experiences at the museum.
