My master's thesis explores the implications on collections and collections departments when a historic house museum is reinterpreted. The goals of this master's project are 1) to determine how the collections and collections staff are impacted by a historic house reinterpretation; 2) to provide examples of how historic house museum collections departments have worked through reinterpretation implications; and 3) to develop recommendations for collections staff in historic house museums to follow before, during, and after their historic house museum is reinterpreted.
