This master's project focuses on issues associated with managing collections within visible storage facilities. The purpose of this project is threefold: first, to identify the primary collection management issues confronting institutions maintaining visible storage; second, to research and evaluate four museums with varying degrees of experience with visible storage in order to identify specific collection management issues; and third, to develop a product to help inform museum professionals considering visible storage for their museums and assist them in making responsible decisions during the development and implementation of visible storage.
