| dc.description.abstract | The United States experiences a higher crime and recidivism rate than any other country. Historically, methods of incarceration, rehabilitation, and restorative justice have been in large part unsuccessful in reducing crime. Most prison systems have employed some effort toward rehabilitation, but remain unsuccessful. This study is a review of past methods used and their rate of effectiveness in reducing the crime and recidivism rate. There exists an inconsistency in the methods employed by prison systems and their expectations, which has led to an impact on the ineffectiveness of incarceration and rehabilitation. | |
