| dc.description.abstract | The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2) is currently the most used psychological assessment test in the United States. This study researched the history of forensic psychology, the MMPI-2’s involvement in a court of law, as well as its structure and measurement capabilities, expressed through tables and case studies. This study found test subjects felt the MMPI-2 was suitable in assessing mental illness, as well as child custody evaluations and personality patterns of personal injury litigants. It was determined that the MMPI-2 is beneficial in assessing characteristics and patterns of mental pathologies, and may be seen as a useful tool in discerning the truth. This study in no way indicates the use of the MMPI-2 to determine guilt or innocence. | |
