dc.description.abstractThis annotated bibliography covers the subject area of athletic injury and self-concept. The annotated bibliography will clarify and summarize the relevant psychology and sport psychology literature. Literature that is incorporated into review are: 1) Self-concept and the effect it has on injury occurrence; 2) self-concept in general and as these constructs relate to athletes and athletic competition; 3) athletic injury in general and the relevant psychological factors; 4) role of grief and mourning in the rehabilitation process as experienced by elite athletes.
